A lifelong resident of Fauquier County, Virginia, Mr. Howard (aka BITsquire) left the area to pursue his undergraduate degree at Randolph-Macon College in Ashland, Virginia. He graduated in 2008 with a major in Sociology and a minor in English. Following graduation, Mr. Howard interned with the Honorable Terrence R. Ney of the Fairfax County Circuit Court. Later that year, he began a clerkship with Prince William County Commonwealth's Attorney's Office, working under the mentorship of legendary Commonwealth's Attorney Paul B. Ebert. From 2008 through 2011, Mr. Howard continued working with the office during his summer breaks from law school. He earned his J.D. degree from the Appalachian School of Law in 2012 and was admitted to practice in both Virginia and Washington, D.C. Since 2013, Mr. Howard has obtained hundreds of favorable results for clients in both criminal and civil matters. He has served as lead counsel in a wide range of criminal cases across Virginia, from high-profile first-degree murder, malicious wounding, and sexual assault trials to complex white-collar fraud matters and more routine charges such as DUI and assault. Mr. Howard's appellate work includes two published Virginia Supreme Court decisions involving constitutional double jeopardy and issues related to guilty plea acceptance and logistics. He was named a Thomson Reuters Super Lawyers Rising Star every year from 2018 through 2024. Since 2018, Mr. Howard has gradually shifted his practice to an even split between criminal litigation and domestic/civil litigation. His family law work has also earned him the Thomson Reuters/LawInfo.com Lead Counsel Designation in the area of domestic relations and divorce since 2023. Mr. Howard is peer-rated 4.3 out of 5 by Martindale-Hubbell.

He has done work in breach of contract, fraud, injunctive relief, punitive damages, employment, trade secrets, real estate, construction and construction defects, and civil rights litigation. Mr. Cohan's practice is concentrated on business litigation and employment litigation, as well as civil litigation. He earned his B.S. degree from the University of Georgia and his J.D. degree from Emory School of Law. Mr. Cohan has served as chair of the Litigation Section, the largest section of the Atlanta Bar Association. He has also chaired the Small Firm Section of the Atlanta Bar Association. Mr. Cohan has served on the Board of Directors for the Atlanta Bar Association; and has chaired the Atlanta Bar Foundation, the charitable arm of the Atlanta Bar Association. He has received awards and recognition for his community and legal work. These awards include Super Lawyer, Legal Elite, Martindale-Hubbell's preeminent AV rating, American Board of Trial Advocates, America's Top 100 Attorneys, and the Celebrating Service Award. For many years, Mr. Cohan has chaired the Legal Run Around 5k road race, raising money for the children of injured and fallen Atlanta Police Department officers.
