John Hale Freeland is an attorney with Freeland Martz, PLLC, in Oxford, where his practice includes insurance, personal injury, products liability, and coverage defense; representation of creditors in bankruptcy cases; representing individuals and businesses as both plaintiffs and defendants in contract, real property, corporate, trust and estate litigation, and transactional and estate work for local clients. Mr. Freeland is a member of the National Academy of Elder Lawers (NAELA) and the Association of Attorney Mediators. He previously served as president of the Young Lawyers Division of the Mississippi Bar; was a member of the Mississippi Bar Commission's Executive Committee; and served as editor of The Mississippi Lawyer magazine. Mr. Freeland has served as a faculty member at various continuing legal education seminars on attorney ethics, bankruptcy, church property litigation, estate planning and protecting the interests of elderly. He received his B.A. degree from the University of Mississippi and his J.D. degree from the Univeresity of Mississippi School of Law.
