Orlando Lucero is vice-president/regional counsel for the FNF Family of Companies in Albuquerque, New Mexico, where his underwriting work includes complex commercial transactions, native lands transactions, and energy project deals in the company's southwest region. Before going into the title insurance business in 2003, Mr. Lucero was in private practice primarily focusing on real estate and business transactions. He is a frequent national and local lecturer and writer on numerous topics related to real estate transactions and title insurance. Mr. Lucero has served on the ABA Board of Governors and serves in the ABA House of Delegates. He also serves as chair of the ABA Council of the Fund for Justice and Education, and on the ABA Senior Lawyers Division Council and the ABA Committee on Scope and Correlation of Work. Mr. Lucero is a former president of the New Mexico Land Title Association and received the 2021 NMLTA Omer Tucker Citizen of the Year Award and the 2022 P.C. Templeton Award for Outstanding Lifetime Achievement. He is a member of the American College of Real Estate Attorneys (ACREL), where he serves on its Board of Governors, as chair of the Publications Committee and as secretary of the Title Insurance Committee. Mr. Lucero earned his A.B. degree from Stanford University and his J.D. degree from Stanford Law School.
