Kobie Layne

is an attorney with Meagher + Geer in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He is a member of the firm's anti-fraud and extra contractual litigation, construction, mass tort/toxic tort, and safety, toxic tort & environmental practice groups. Mr. Layne's practice includes anti-fraud investigations and litigation involving asbestos and talc exposure. Before joining Meagher + Geer, he served as an unemployment law judge with the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development, where he presided over unemployment insurance appeals for employee discharge matters. He earned his J.D. degree from the University of Baltimore School of Law, where he served as associate editor for The University of Baltimore Law Forum and chair of its Bluebook Mentoring Committee. Mr. Layne earned his B.A. degree in criminology and criminal justice from the University of Maryland, College Park; and his M.B.A. degree from the University of Baltimore Merrick School of Business.
