Speaker bio
Dafney Dubuisson Stokes
is a partner of Wong Fleming, P.C. She concentrates her practice in commercial litigation, creditor's rights, bankruptcy and automotive finance. Ms. Dubuisson Stokes has successfully defended Fortune 500 corporate clients in connection with Fair Credit Reporting Act, Fair Debt Collection Practices, Truth in Lending and bankruptcy litigation on a national level. Prior to a career in the law, she worked for almost a decade in the social service sector advocating for youth in specialized foster care placement. Ms. Dubuisson Stokes has since redirected her passion for advocacy by developing strong relationships with her clients, vigorously representing their interests, and tirelessly engaging within the legal community in promotion of diversity and inclusion in the profession. She presently serves as the co-chair of the Emerging Leaders Initiative within NAMWOLF (National Association of Minority and Women Owned Law Firms), which aims to achieve equity in the legal profession through collaboration between law firms and the corporate sector. Ms. Dubuisson Stokes is also a member of the New Jersey Supreme Court Ethics Committee (District IIIB) and on the Board of the Marks Cares, Inc. in Montclair, New Jersey, with a mission to eradicate homelessness throughout New Jersey. She has also been recognized by NJBiz as a 2023 Leader in the Law. Ms. Dubuisson Stokes is licensed to practice law in New Jersey (2013), New York (2018), Ohio (2022) and Pennsylvania (2012). She earned her a B.A. degree, with honors, from Boston College and her J.D. degree from Temple University James E. Beasley School of Law.

Hon. Jose M. Rodriguez
was appointed to the Circuit Court of the Eleventh Judicial Circuit in Florida by Governor Jeb Bush in the year 2000. He was previously a county judge in the same circuit appointed by Governor Lawton Chiles in 1994. Judge Rodriguez has served in the complex business litigation, criminal and family divisions and is presently assigned to the Civil Jurisdiction, Asbestos, Appellate and International Commercial Arbitration (Administrative Judge) divisions. He has been thrice nominated for judicial appointment to the Third District Court of Appeal of Florida and has been thrice considered for appointment by Florida Governor Rick Scott. Judge Rodriguez attended Indiana University (Maurer) School of Law in Bloomington, Indiana where he received his J.D. degree, and Florida International University where he received his B.A. degree. He is an adjunct professor and part of the adjunct faculty at Indiana University (Maurer) School of Law in Bloomington, Indiana and teaches courtroom procedure. Judge Rodriguez is also an adjunct professor and part of the adjunct faculty at the Florida International University, College of Law in Miami, Florida and teaches Florida civil procedure and law, science and technology. He is also a member of the faculty at the Florida International University Legal Studies Institute and teaches introduction to the U.S. legal system, criminal law and U.S. constitutional law. Judge Rodriquez is a member and vice president of the Indiana University Maurer School of Law Latino Advisory Board (Latin X). He is a published author. His works include Florida Civil Procedure Cases and Materials (3rd edition), Carolina Academic Press; and two practice treatises, Florida Civil Procedure and Florida Evidence with publisher Mathew Bender/Lexis Nexis.
