Speaker bio
Jonathan J. Schutrum
is an associate in the Dickie McCamey & Chilcote, P.C.'s litigation department, where he focuses his practice in medical and professional malpractice defense, nursing home litigation, municipal and governmental litigation, product liability, and insurance defense litigation. An experienced attorney, Mr. Schutrum has successfully prosecuted and defended legal actions in both New York state and federal courts. He also has experience handling and resolving matters through alternative dispute resolution and mediation. Mr. Schutrum graduated, magna cum laude, from George Washington University, before earning his law degree from the Syracuse University College of Law. He is a member of the New York State Bar Association and Bar Association of Erie County.

Olivia S. Mercer
is an associate with Berman Fink Van Horn P.C. in Atlanta, Georgia. Her practice areas include business litigation, noncompete/trade secrets, labor and employment, and real estate litigation. Prior to joining BFV, Ms. Mercer was an attorney at a national law firm. A graduate of Mercer University School of Law, she also held a judicial externship with Judge Marc T. Treadwell. Ms. Mercer earned her Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance degree from the University of Georgia.

Alyssa G. Gill
is an associate with Berman Fink Van Horn P.C. in Atlanta, Georgia. Her practice areas include business litigation, noncompete/trade secrets, labor and employment, and real estate litigation. Previously, Ms. Gill was an associate attorney at an international law firm in New York. Her previous experience also includes legal externships at the Federal Trade Commission and ACLU of Georgia and judicial externships with Judge Eleanor L. Ross (Northern District of Georgia) and Judge Billy Tomlinson (Georgia State Court of Bryan County). A graduate of Emory University School of Law (honors), Ms. Gill won regional and national accolades on Emory's Lefkowitz Trademarks Moot Court Team and was inducted into The Order of Barristers for excellence in litigation. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Journalism in entertainment and media studies, cum laude, and her Bachelor of Arts in English Literature, cum laude, from the University of Georgia. Prior to law school, Ms. Gill worked in the Atlanta media industry.

Michelle Arty
is a litigation paralegal with Pankauski Lazarus PLLC. She is involved in all aspects of trial and appellate work, including client and witness interviews; communicating with clients/parties, opposing counsel and staff, and outside professionals and organizations; discovery, both review and analysis of incoming and outgoing discovery requests and working with clients to compile and draft responses to same; scheduling; attendance at mediations, hearings and trials; legal research; drafting pleadings from initial filing through appeal; and maintaining files. Ms. Arty is a certified paralegal, having received her advanced certifications in both trial practice and e-discovery. She is also a Florida registered paralegal. Ms. Arty is currently serving her second term on The Florida Bar's FRP Enrichment Committee. She is a member of the Paralegal Association of Florida and is serving as president of its Palm Beach Chapter. She earned her A.A.S. degree in legal assisting from Tallahassee Community College and her A.A. degree from Florida State University.
